Organic Chicken & Cabbage Soup
Homemade broth using organic chicken and spices. Soup contains organic chicken and organic veggies including red cabbage, rainbow carrots, grape tomatoes, brussel sprouts, green onions and basmati rice.
Made from scratch! Seriously the BEST soup I've ever made! Makes a difference when using fresh (I used mostly organic) veggies!
How I made the broth:
6 cups water (I added a bit more water to the soup)
5 cloves garlic
1 small whole onion
4 large bay leaves
1 tsp thyme
1 whole apple, sliced
Salt & pepper
I placed a whole organic chicken into my instant pot on poultry setting (stuffed with an apple slice & onion slice) for 30 mins, then took chicken out, carved off the meat then put the carcass back in the instant pot and put on broth/soup setting for 4 hrs (low pressure). I did this twice without venting so it was on all day but wow the flavor!!
The bones were easily crumbling/breaking apart, which is what you want if you want to extract as many nutrients/minerals and collagen as possible! Good for the gut & good for your skin!
What I used for the soup:
Approx 1lb organic chicken
1 cup organic red cabbage chopped
3 large organic carrots diced/cut
Approx 10-12 organic grape tomatoes, diced
6 large organic Brussel sprouts chopped
4 green onions diced
1/3 cup jasmine rice
2 cubes @gobioorganic chicken bouillon cubes
Once broth was made, I let cool, put it fridge overnight then separated liquid from fat. Incorporated all ingredients to make the soup & voilà!
Fresh chicken & garden veggie soup with (almost) all the colours of the rainbow!
Ham & Avocado on 5 Grain Puffs
Shaved black forest ham and avocado over 5 grain puff cakes, served with organic blueberries and pecans.
Mixture of raw almond butter, nut and seed mixture, coconut oil, brown rice syrup, vanilla extract, MCT oil, borage oil, ashwagandha & lions mane powder.
